Tosh tweets about Giraldo’s passing

The news of the untimely passing of comedian Greg Giraldo has stunned the comedy world, with everyone from Lisa Lampanelli to Bob Saget to Aziz Ansari expressing their sadness and sending their condolences, especially via Twitter.

Daniel Tosh is a prolific Twitter user and turned to the social network to send his regrets. He  joined his peers by paying tribute to Giraldo with a short but sweet tweet: “Sorry to hear about the passing of Greg Giraldo. Thank you for everything.”

Giraldo died Wednesday after being hospitalized last weekend from a wild party in his hotel room in East Brunswick, NJ, where he was performing several nights at the local comedy club, The Stress Factory. The cause was apparently an overdose of prescription drugs, which is ironic considering Giraldo has been a recovering alcoholic since 2005. The one-time judge on “Last Comic Standing” and frequent Comedy Central roaster was 44.
